Studio Av Starter
For the occasional cut — a holiday clip, a voice note tidied up, a reel for the weekend.
- Trim, split and merge
- Core filters and transitions
- Standard export formats
- Share to social apps
A full video and audio editor that lives on the phone you already shoot with. Cut, mix, colour, export, post.
Shot on the same phones Studio Av was built for.
Set in and out points frame by frame, split a clip where the pause is, and join takes into one sequence. The preview updates as you drag, so you cut by eye instead of by guess.
Separate lanes for voice, music and effects. Lift a quiet recording, drop the music under a line, fade in and out, or strip the original sound and lay a new track over the picture.
Colour looks, grain, blur, speed ramps and transitions, applied to one clip or the whole sequence. Nothing is baked in until you export, so you can change your mind at the last second.
Common video and audio formats, with resolution, frame rate and bitrate you choose rather than inherit. Vertical, square and widescreen are framed in the editor, not cropped by surprise afterwards.
When the cut is done it goes to your social apps from the share sheet — no cable, no desktop, no waiting for a file to sync somewhere else first.
Almost every clip worth posting now starts on a phone. For years, finishing one meant leaving the phone: cable, laptop, a timeline built for a mouse, an export, a transfer back. By the time the file returned, the moment that made you press record had cooled off.
Studio Av is the other route. The footage stays where it was shot, and everything that used to need a desktop happens on the screen in your hand.
A phone editor fails in the same place every time — the timeline. Too small to be precise, too clever to be predictable. So that is where we spent the time. Clips snap to each other and to the playhead, but never to a grid you did not ask for. Zoom in and a frame is a frame, not a blurry approximation. Scrub with one thumb and the preview keeps up. Undo goes back as far as you need it to.
Most mobile editors treat sound as a slider. It is not. A clip with a shaky horizon and clean audio is watchable; a beautiful shot with wind on the mic is not. Studio Av gives sound its own lanes — voice, music, effects — with levels, fades and the ability to detach the original audio and move it independently of the picture. You can also open the app for audio alone: trim a recording, join two takes, balance them, export. No video required.
Filters, grain, speed, blur and transitions are applied on top of your media, not burned into it. Stack them, dial them back, strip them off an hour later. The file you shot is the file you still have.
Export is where phone editors quietly let you down: a format nobody wants, a resolution you did not pick, a watermark nobody mentioned. Studio Av asks you plainly — format, resolution, frame rate, bitrate — and writes exactly that. Then it hands the finished cut to your share sheet, and the clip goes out the same day you shot it.
That is the whole idea: fewer steps between the thing happening and the thing being seen. If you want to know which plan fits how you work, or you are rolling Studio Av out to a team, send us a line below and we will answer properly.
